Creating a free, open access North American Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) database of high impact building materials. Currently, modeling software tools are engaging Building Transparency to utilize the free API for the EC3 EPD database, but EPDs are not the appropriate embodied carbon data to use in early design. There is a need for high quality, transparent and free life cycle inventory data for high impact building materials to enable early modeling software to use appropriate data for embodied carbon emissions decisions.
