IN THE NEWS

Seattle’s 58-story, Rainier Square received the Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement Award for being the world’s first high-rise to incorporate the innovative SpeedCore structural system into its design. This non-proprietary innovation—16 years in the making and championed by the MKA Foundation, Purdue University, the Charles Pankow Foundation, and many others—allowed Rainier Square’s construction to occur 43 percent faster than conventional methods.

VISION

Cooperative R&D and a relentless pursuit of a better and more constructable built environment – Ron Klemencic, PE, SE, Hon. AIA, established himself as a research champion through his tenure as the volunteer chairman of CTBUH as well as serving on the board of the Charles Pankow Foundation. In 2017, Klemencic and his MKA Partners created the Magnusson Klemencic Associates (MKA) Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization. MKA and the MKA Foundation thoughtfully advance the profession with both collaborative in-kind structural and civil engineering support and financial sponsorship.
