There is an increasing economic incentive to use Grade 80 and Grade 100 reinforcing steel in seismic and non-seismic applications. This research aims to advance the use of high-strength reinforcement in buildings assigned to all Seismic Design Categories. The goal of this research project is to develop recommendations for the safe and efficient design of thick foundation mats using high-strength reinforcement.
